NTUC Enterprise Digital, or in short NE Digital, was set up to lead the digital transformation of the NTUC Social Enterprises, and NTUC FairPrice is undergoing the same journey; from a traditional social enterprise to one that is increasingly digitalised.
FairPrice's e-commerce portal offers an effortless online shopping experience built by teams housed under NE Digital. We have product development teams within NE Digital that focus on bringing seamless shopping experiences to our customers.
As you may have noticed, we had included NE Digital's logo onto the splash screens of our mobile applications (Android and iOS).
One change from the transformation is to have a single identification system that allows our NTUC Social Enterprises' websites and the suite of mobile applications to authenticate and verify our customers. The goal is to ensure a seamless transition from services to services provided by our social enterprises through a single account, easily managed and owned by our customers.
For the tech-savvy ones, you will know how difficult it is to harden security measures across multiple fragmented systems and services. Having a single identity service promotes greater security and compliance. This means that your personal information is protected under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and they are stored securely with further enhanced measures to follow i.e., Biometric Login, 2-Factor Authentication (2FA), etc.
